Waylon Guitar Research is a Custom Guitar Shop owned and

operated by myself, William Waylon Ford. Although this shop

was launched in May of 2013, I have been building & repairing

Guitars and Basses since 1999.

In 1999 I started building guitars under the name Halo Guitars

with a business partner from sE Electronics, USA. It grew very

quick and I lost control of my dream to my business partner,

who decided to take the company into another direction

building guitars overseas instead of manufacturing here in

the United States as I wanted.

Throughout my time at Halo I researched and designed over

25 instruments including many extended range instruments,

and had my hand in bringing to light a new era of guitars and

hardware.I helped with Gary Kahler with his 8, 9, and 10 string

trem systemsas well as had my part in the design of the 8 string

pick-ups from Seymour Duncan.

In 2009 I resigned from Halo accepting the fate that I have lost

complete control over my dream and would not be able to do

as I havewanted. Which was build quality guitars here in the USA

that were affordable.

I started a new company called Ford Guitars which was very short

lived due to the fall of the economy in the United States. I had to

close its doors after just one year of being opened.

So here I am five years later and I am getting back into the game

again with Waylon Guitar Research. I will be repairing & designing

guitars, pick-ups, bridge systems, coming up with new methods of

building stringed instruments, and oh so much more.
